Now let me share a couple of really worthwhile tools that can help you even more with your SEO. The two tools I’m going to talk about today are: Google Authorship, and Schema. Org.

1/ ‘Google Authorship’ is Google’s initiative to connect authors with their content. Content will rank higher on Google if the authors to each piece of content are validated. In other words, the most evidence Google has that the author is actually qualified and credible, the better the rankings will be for that content.

This method of connecting authors to their content is just another way Google is boosting its own credibility. Way to go, Google. This makes perfect sense when you think about it. If you are an author or a business or a brand, this is one more tool that will help you get to the first page of Google, or at least near the first page of Google depending on your topic.

Use Google Authorship and Google will attempt to get your content appearing on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP) along with your image. This is another way to boost your credibility.

2/ Schema.org is another tool you may be interested in. It is actually a database of html tags and other data (metadata) which can help valid content get indexed properly. It was launched in 2011 by Bing, Google and Yahoo. Webmasters can use html tags in the Schema database to markup their pages so they will be recognized by the major search engines. This will make it easier for people to find the web pages they are really looking for.

There are many tools available to help you with your Search Engine Rankings. Stay up-to-date by checking on-line, reading blogs, staying in tune with social media and talking with others in the field of SEO.
