Onsite IT SolutionsGetting found online is important, but how do we make sure our computer equipment stays operating for full productivity in your business?

Onsite Remote Support Services, Automated Monitoring and Backup Recovery are all critical services for many businesses.

Today I am talking with Shawne Neal today from Source on Site solutions. Sean is an IT (Information Technology) expert who helps small to medium size businesses with their IT and computer needs whether it be stand-alone computers or complex network systems.

I took a couple of minutes to talk with Shawne on camera about his opinion on something I’ve been wondering about.

Some of the companies that I deal with have a set-up where they’re paying a monthly fee as part of a contract to take care of their IT details. Some of the other companies I deal with just call in an IT expert when the need arises.

Question: Shawne, do you think it is a better choice for companies to arrange a contract with an IT company to take care of their computer concerns, or do you recommend dealing with issues as they arise?

Answer: My opinion is, it is a much better choice to have a contract set up. It is much like an insurance policy for your network. You have one place to call, as simple as that. A contract addresses your budgetary needs because every month you know what you are going to pay.

You would have network monitoring included in that contract fee. That way, whenever there is a problem with your network, I am going to find out about it first. Basically on Monday morning, if there is an issue, I am going to be at your door telling you there is a problem.

Without a contract, you are going to show up Monday morning to find a problem with your network. Two or three hours later you figure out where the problem is and then you call me. Then I have to come in and solve the issue.

A contract really decreases your down time and helps increase your productivity. It is like an insurance policy.

Typically my smaller clients who don’t have many computer problems or don’t have a high volume of business tend to choose to contact me only when they need me rather than going with a contract. It really depends on the customer. My opinion is that when you take on a monthly contract you are getting what you need when you need it for a lower monthly cost.
