Do videos really help with your marketing?

How can videos possibly help your business with your marketing?
You may be asking that question after hearing some of the buzz about video marketing that has been on-line lately. In fact, people have been talking about the benefits of video marketing for quite some time now. Maybe you talked to a friend who works in marketing at another company, or maybe you just overhead the president of one of your supplier’s firms, talking at the office Christmas party.

You might have stumbled upon a few videos on-line while you were searching for something.

In fact, video marketing can help your business in a big way. Whether you shoot a few videos yourself or you get someone else to do it for you, it can be a boost for your business if you attach those videos to your website or blog.

Be creative!

Your first question might be, “What would I talk about?”.

You might be surprised what people are interested in. After all, isn’t that what social media is all about? Sharing information with people that may or may not interest everyone. If you think about it, you can come up with some detail of your product or service which you could share with the world. Someone out there will probably find it interesting.

For instance, maybe you make cookies. Would you like to share the first step your company took in order to decide what your newest cookie recipe might be? Obviously, I’m not an expert in the cookie industry; I’m just trying to get you thinking. Or you could ask one of your more creative people on staff to make a list of some topics related to your business that could be the subject of a short video.

Length?

Most people like to watch videos that get right to the point. In my opinion, even a 45 second video can be interesting, informative and valuable. Make sure the content is worthwhile and try not to go over 2 minutes if you can help it.

Go for it. Make a video, share it with the world and you may be surprised what it can do for your marketing!
