SEO on the beach? 6 tips to get SEO done from almost anywhere

Can I do my SEO from home? Or do I need to do all of my search engine optimization from my office? Many people ask me these questions. The answer is, with a little help you can easily do your SEO from almost anywhere, even the beach!

Here are some tips to help you do effective SEO from wherever you are.

1. Close the door to your home office and put a sign on the outside of the door that says: please do not disturb, I’ll be available at … and fill in the time.
2. Put your dog in the garage. This is what I have to do. But of course the fact is you may have pets that don’t bother you at all if you are doing work at home. Just make sure that your pets are not distracting you.
3. Work from a list. The important thing about working from the list is to be determined to complete the task you working on before moving onto the next. So many people lose focus because they do a little bit of one task, get distracted and do something else, get distracted and do something else, the dog barks, you feed the dog, the phone rings you answer the phone, you think of something else you have to do, you answer the door, your child can’t find her shoes. You get the idea.
4. Ignore your email. In other words turn it off. Email is a huge distraction. Yes it is an important tool in your business, but when you are trying to complete tasks like SEO, make sure you stay focused on your specific task. Do not have a notification tone sounding on your computer when email comes in. This is far too distracting.
5. Consider outsourcing. Perhaps you have a 14-year-old down the street would like to make a few extra bucks. You would be amazed how much assistance a teenager can give you with your SEO. Of course there are many solutions to outsourcing which you will find online. Check out one of my other blogs to find out details. The money you spend on outsourcing will be an excellent investment. You can still oversee the work, do it at home and make sure it gets done.  Once you have an outsourcing system in place, it will take a lot of responsibility off your shoulders.
6. If you are in a hotel room, in a bar, poolside, on the beach by the ocean, or anywhere else you can imagine, you will probably be able to do your SEO effectively. Just make sure you have a fast Internet connection, and a reasonable amount of peace and quiet. If you’re in a busy bar or pool area just move off to the side and think about what you have decided you want to achieve and stick with it until you’re finished. Bring a dark umbrella if you are outside in the warm sun because you may need it to be able to see the screen of your smart phone, iPad or computer.
